John G. Rice

John G. Rice retired as vice chairman of the General Electric Company in April 2018, and returned as chairman of GE Gas Power in December 2018. He began his GE career in 1978 and has held several leadership positions. He led the company's global operations in Hong Kong. Immediately prior to that, he served as vice chairman of GE and president and CEO of GE Technology Infrastructure. Rice earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, and is a life trustee there. Rice is also a trustee of Emory University and serves as chair of the Woodruff Health Sciences Board. He serves on several boards including Li and Fung Limited and Baker Hughes, a GE Company. Rice also serves as a senior advisor for the G-100 companies and is a senior professor at the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs at Georgia Tech.
